Honestea was established in late 2019 as a passionate side venture – sourcing the finest loose tea leaves from renowned regions across China and beyond. What started with countless sleepless nights of research and testing, all done from a home kitchen with more curiosity than experience, grew into Honestea & Co.
The name says it all: Honestea, from honesty. We wanted a business that was genuine, premium, and transparent tea that delivers more than just flavour. Our matcha and teas are sourced from manufacturers already halal certified in their country of origin, because we believe you deserve to know exactly what’s in your cup, without the guesswork.

We don’t believe tea should be a mystery. From the moment we choose a supplier to the moment your order reaches your door, every step is something we can stand behind – and explain, if you ever ask. No inflated claims, no vague sourcing stories, just straight answers, because that’s the whole point of the name.
We work directly with growers and manufacturers in origin regions like Japan and China, prioritising quality, consistency, and manufacturers that already hold halal certification in their own country. We go through a strict quality test of all grades before choosing.
We’re not chasing trends. Every blend is made in small batches, so what you taste is consistent, fresh, and never diluted for scale.
We used to overstock heavily just to guarantee we’d never run out – but we’ve since moved to smaller, more frequent batches instead. It means better freshness for you, and it keeps us close to our suppliers rather than sitting on shelves waiting to sell.

Hi, I’m Sarah, the founder of Honestea & Co. What started in 2019 as a personal passion for tea turned into countless late nights at my kitchen table; researching, testing, and asking a lot of questions most people don’t think to ask about their tea.
I didn’t come from a manufacturing background or a big team. Just a genuine love for tea, and a stubborn belief that it shouldn’t come with guesswork. From sourcing the finest tea leaves from trusted regions to building blends that are honest about what’s actually in them, every part of Honestea reflects that same commitment.
Today, Honestea & Co. is backed by a small, dedicated team, all working toward the same mission: to bring you tea and matcha that’s premium, transparent, and worth trusting – one cup, one honest answer at a time.
